I've had multiple financial sites lock me out because they didn't recognize my accessing device, or I was behind a proxy, or using a VPN. And once I had to visit a bank branch in person to physically verify my identity -- it was so weird being inside an actual brick-and-mortar bank that I first asked them to verify their reality.
